Commissioned for Mission

September is a great month in Madrid; it seems everybody that has been away in their villages for the summer all return in one weekend. Everyone is busy stocking their fridge’s again, collecting school books and catching up with friends that they may not have seen for two months.

For the team things are no different, about half the team this year spent some time in their ‘village’, the UK and are now settling back in to the work and school routine. During the summer those that could, went to Westpoint, where we had a great time being commissioned by Guy Miller, Michael Ramsden, Mbonisi and others. Here is some of the feedback from being together amongst our wider family of churches and how that propels us into the next phase of church planting here.

Some of us felt God speak to them directly and personally about stepping out in discipleship, one felt God say He would give them a heart of courage like the lion in the wizard of Oz and another that He was to press into God like a dam, going deeper into prayer, reading the bible and sharing his faith. Others felt affirmed in their calling in Madrid and commissioned to return and specifically that fear does not need to be our protection.

It was an amazing weekend in God’s presence and many felt encouraged by other people expressing their love for us as and that they are for us and that we are part of something much greater than ourselves, these have been invaluable times.

So where does that take us? From these great moments over the summer we are equipped to go deeper into our friendships, put stronger roots down, say that Madrid is home and reaching the people around us is the reason we live. We are encouraged to be part of the building momentum in weekly outreach, doing questionnaires with friends, talking about Jesus and working towards an Alpha Course and expecting God to bring in the harvest.

Thank you for all your support and thank you for your prayers
  •   Thank God for being part of the great commission.
  •   Pray for us as we go to the streets giving out flyers and doing questionnaires.
  •   Also as we speak to our friends about our faith.
  •   As we think about starting a new group in the centre of Madrid.
  •    For jobs for the team
